We all like Mr. Wolf... but why?

We all like Mr. Wolf... but why?

Some of what I am about to say is because I am a big "fanboy" of Quentin Tarantino's work, be it his writing, or his abilities as a director. This will probably have more context if you have seen the movie Pulp Fiction but hopefully I can set up the situation sufficiently enough to offer a perspective as to why we all like Mr. Wolf... independent of gender, race, religion or sports team affiliation.

=X
You see, Mr. Wolf solves problems, and not just any ol' problem... the messy ones.

Jules and Vincent, through a series of events find themselves with a dead body in the back of their car and unwittingly call on Jimmie at his house with their problem in tow. It turns out Jimmie's wife Bonnie comes home from the midnight shift at 9:30 am and she would "appreciate the situation none too much". After a series of phone calls that pull him away from a black tie affair that is 30 minutes away, Mr. Wolf arrives ten minutes later at Jimmie's door.

He is, after all, the one that people call to solve their problems.

The attached clip offers a glimpse into the brilliance that is Quentin Tarantino and Mr. Wolf. (strong language advisory... remember you were warned)

Great analogy and examples. I know on the playground we all secretly wished Mr. Wolf would show up and handle the bully. I think as we age the consequences become to large to play Mr. Wolf, secretly though we live on the cusp of wanting to play the role. On a serious note when the issues get larger than us we do look for a Mr. Wolf to problem solve. Critical thinking, or boiling down to the few choices we may have is a difficult process for many. Mr. Wolk may be crude, but this makes him/her no less effecient.
