Controller - Exeter, Canada - HENSALL CO-OPERATIVE
Description
Hensall Co-op is seeking a self-motivated individual to become an integral member of our Finance and Accounting team at the Exeter location.
The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the business and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Provide regular financial reports to senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and variances.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and present findings to management for decisionmaking.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop annual operating budgets.
- Monitor and track budget performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Prepare financial forecasts and projections based on market trends, business goals, and industry analysis.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and adherence to accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support in their professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent knowledge of financial software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problemsolving abilities.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting standards.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or other related program
- Completion of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance environment
- Prior knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS and/or knowledge of risk management related to FX considered an asset
