Maple Manor Nursing Home in Tillsonburg, ON is seeking a
Cook that is dedicated, energetic and above all passionate about preparing and cooking nutritious meals to our residents while adhering to food safety, food handling and sanitation procedures.
THE ROLE
- This is a PART TIME position 30 hours biweekly with the possibility of additional Dietary Aide shifts
- Shift is 9:30AM to 5:30PM
WHAT WE OFFER
- Starting rate of pay is
$21.77 per hour then moves to
$22.38 after 3 months - Benefit package including: Employee and Family Assistance Program, Life Insurance & Pension
PLUS an additional
$.25 per hour in lieu of extended health benefits - Paid Sick Days
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have completed a degree/diploma/certificate (Cook Level 1 preferred) in a related field
OR institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality cooking experience - Must have a Food Handler's Certificate and keep it up to date
- Preference will be given to individuals who have previous Long Term Care experience
- Must be available for all day shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays
SKILLS
- Must have a sincere interest in people, the elderly in particular, and possess a genuine sensitivity to their needs
- Must be able to effectively handle the physical aspects of the position including, but not limited to the ability to bend, stand, lift, withstand various range of temperatures and have hands in water and have the ability to work safely by following established safety practices and procedures
- Able to multitask and complete required routines within assigned schedules
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable within a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written in English)

ABOUT MAPLE MANOR
Maple Manor Nursing Home, locally owned and operated, is a long-term care facility located in the downtown core of Tillsonburg Ontario.
The home is licensed by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and is Accredited through the Person-Centred Long Term Care Community Standards of CARF Canada.
The Home is a 103-bed, smoke free facility offering private, semi-private and ward accommodations.In addition, Maple Manor has four temporary licenses for Interim Long-Term Care Home beds through the Aging at Home program.
These beds provide a location for residents who would otherwise be kept in hospital while awaiting placement into a Long-Term Care facility.
