Job Overview


As a Corporate Communications Social Media Advisor within the Corporate Communications team, you will support Export Development Canada's social media efforts to engage with our customers, partners, employees, industry influencers, and stakeholders.

Social media is where EDC leads and take part in valuable, timely and relevant conversations with the Canadian business community that highlight the impact of exporting and enable sustainable and responsible global business growth.


Our objectives are to foster community and affinity, build brand trust and reputation, and bring visibility to the value we can offer Canadian companies with our toolbox of solutions.

This tactical role supports EDC's integrated corporate social media strategy and voice on all platforms.

This person will support EDC's Senior Advisor, Social Media & Content and report to the Director of Employee & Community Communications.


Responsibilities include

  • Delivering on EDC's daytoday corporate communications social media operations
  • Provides videography and photography services for Corporate Communications (I.e., employee headshots; event photography; exec/event filming)
  • Executing the tactical elements of EDC's

Social Media Roadmap:
conceptualizing, developing, drafting, producing, and distributing engaging social media content

  • Creating content from EDC's most widely used social media platforms: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc. Internally, supporting Employee Comms with Viva Engage platform.
  • Working with and maintaining a fully integrated social media calendar, with visibility of all social media initiatives (paid campaigns, organic, boosted posts, etc.)
  • Ongoing social media monitoring, engaging, and analysis of organic/paid posts on EDC social handles
  • Fostering an environment to innovate and test on social media, accelerating expertise at EDC
  • Monitoring social media emerging trends, researching tools
  • Creating and distributing social media listening reports

Screening Criteria

  • Completed an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing, or Communications, Public Relations or in a related field
  • 3 5 years of experience in social media, or community management
  • Audience focus with emphasis on engagement (digital literacy)
  • Knowledge of user experience and or communication field
  • Knowledge of global social media trends and practices
  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)

  • Experience in social media analytics and tools

Salary Range
Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from:

  • Level 15: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $61,114 to $81,486, plus performance-based incentive
  • Level 17: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $79,424 to $105,899, plus performancebased incentive
