Hybrid Work Model
This position is located in our Victoria, BC office. You will have the opportunity to work part of the time on-campus and part of the time off-campus.

Guidelines and requirements for in-office presence are determined by operational need and vary according to the unique needs of each business area.


The opportunity:

We are seeking a Director, Communications and External Relations (DC) to join our team in
VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada.
The DC is a board employee and a senior member of the management team.

Working closely with the staff of the board office, this position will contribute to the effective delivery of communication initiatives within the team directly supporting the board.


What do you need to succeed?:


Must have:


  • University degree, ideally in communications, journalism, public relations, business administration, finance, or other relevant and related field.
  • Advanced degrees or relevant certifications such as CFA charter holder (or working towards obtaining the designation) would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in the industry (e.g.
, public sector pensions and/or investment management and/or communications), bringing:


  • Proven ability to effectively communicate complex financial and investment concepts to diverse participants, including pension plan members, government officials, and the general public.
  • Superior knowledge and understanding of public sector pension industry issues and administration, specifically regarding defined benefit pension plans.
  • Experience working with public sector and joint employer/labour boards.
