Position Information:


  • The Ottawa Hospital is looking for a dynamic and talented health leader to join its ambulatory and virtual care leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity as we embark on an ambulatory care services transformation through the optimization of a new health information system, the creation and rollout of a virtual care innovation strategy, as well as our ongoing clinical services planning to meet the needs of those we serve into the future.
  • Reporting to the Clinical Director of Ambulatory and Virtual Care, the Clinical Manager, Family Health Team is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for clinical services, in addition to management of specific clinical areas. In a coleadership operational dyad with division heads and formal physician leaders, the Clinical Manager will provide advise and expertise to senior management to assist with the overall achievement of ambulatory care transformation and our reach towards the quadruple aim.
  • Driven by data, this health leader will make key strategic service recommendations through analysis of performance reports, multiyear operational and financial plans, and identification of quality improvement strategies. Strategically, the Clinical Manager is accountable for planning, organizing, and directing the daytoday strategy related to the optimization and evaluation of a new health information system, and supporting the implementation of various virtual care initiatives.
  • Operationally, the Clinical Manager is accountable for the effective and efficient use of human, fiscal and material resources in the delivery of quality, patient and family centered care.
In collaboration with Physician and Clinical Leaders of defined services, the position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

coordinating the overall delivery of care of the population, responding and investigating patient and family inquires, ensuring effective operations on a day to day basis; acting as a resource for staff; managing the hiring processl coordinating human resources to efficiently and effectivelt meet care requirements; ensuring that quality improvement, risk management and accreditation activities as executed effectively; resolving clinical practice issues and operational improvement initiatives; developing a service-specific plan for minor and capital ependitures.- The Ottawa Hospital Academic Family Health Team is a group of health care professionals working together for the benefit of their patients.

Partnered with the University of Ottawa to train medical students, residents, and other health care professionals to the highest standard, The Family Health Team (FHT) provides primary care for teenagers, children, the elderly, pregnant mothers, babies, and the general population.

The FHT also offers a variety of clinics to its patients providing a complete range of health care services, including nutrition advice, drug information, counselling sessions, and mental health services, all designed to assist patients in attaining and maintaining optimal health.


Rotation/Shifts:


  • Days, 8 hour shifts
    What you will bring:
  • Baccalaureate Degree in a health related discipline;
  • Five (5) or more years of clinical and management experience combined;
  • Strong leadership skills to support and provide direction to staff in an active and rapidly changing environment;
  • Proven ability in working effectively with all members of health care team;
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution and decision making skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of principles of management and research based practice;
  • Knowledge of budgeting process and ability to analyze fiscal and patient care data;
  • Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of principles and issues related to the delivery of primary care;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills related to Business Management
