What we seek:

OCHC is looking for a capable Pest Maintenance Worker to conduct pest treatment, inspections, and repairs on OCHC properties.

Reporting to the Property Management and Support Services (PMSS), the Pest Maintenance Worker will also be responsible for teaching our tenants pest management control techniques and working as a team in a safe and professional manner.


Pest Maintenance Worker with OCHC:


Ensuring the health and safety of our communities within the city is one of the most important objectives of our organization.

As the Pest Maintenance Worker,
you will be a key player in our team to bring a healthy and safe environment for our tenants by helping them with maintenance and pest related concerns.

You will work as a team to not only address pest issues, but to ensure our community members are living a safe and healthy life in their homes by helping them with any maintenance concerns.


As a Pest Maintenance Worker, some of the things you do will include:

  • Work with various stakeholders to prevent and resolve pest issues
  • Promote awareness and inform tenants and staff on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles
  • Support effective pest management through waste management, appropriate pest control techniques, and repair and maintenance of OCH buildings.
  • Complete repairs and improvements to OCH properties, both internally and externally
  • Repair and/or replace doors, windows, electrical hardware, and plumbing fixtures
  • Ensure general safety for work areas, buildings, and grounds.

What you bring:
Education & Experience:


  • Completion of grade 10
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in building maintenance / construction, and pest management in a residential context
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain an Ontario Structural Exterminators License
  • Oral fluency and reading and writing abilities in English
  • Medically fit to use respiratory protection

Skills and abilities

  • Possess
    physical and technical capabilities to perform related duties
  • Excellent
    organizational skills:
  • Outstanding
    interpersonal and communication skills:
  • Ability to
    speak additional languages commonly used by OCHC tenants is an asset
  • Bilingualism is preferred

Other requirements:


  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check
  • Possess a valid Class "G" driver's license or equivalent
  • Satisfactory Driver's Abstract
