POSITION SCOPE

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Enterprise Applications

  • Manages the effective and efficient operation of areas of responsibility, monitoring and reporting on adherence to targets and performance indicators, and driving continuous improvement
  • Provides training to Digital Solutions staff and employees, offering support for users, and troubleshooting when issues arise
  • Provides exceptional client support
  • Partners with leaders of other disciplines to ensure proposed solutions align with information, technology, infrastructure, business, and security architectures
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with vendors/consultants, IT teams and internal stakeholders
  • Supports the preparation of and manages assigned budgets, monitors expenditures, ensures the timely validation and approval of expenses, and ensures costs are controlled
  • Researches and stays abreast of industry best practices and latest trends and recommends and implements changes accordingly

People Management

  • Provides leadership and overall management of staff within areas of responsibility, including assigning, monitoring and evaluating work, setting work plans, priorities and expectations, coaching, developing and motivating staff, and ensuring effective service delivery
  • Identifies, plans for and manages human resources needs for assigned area of responsibility, including hiring, termination, discipline, investigations and grievances
  • Ensures the timely investigation, response to, and documentation of all workplace incidents
  • Ensures that own work and the work of all staff aligns with OCH values, interests, plans and objectives
  • Ensures that own work and the work of all employees is carried out in accordance with applicable health, safety and privacy legislation, policies and procedures, and all other legislation, policies and procedures relevant to area of work

External / Internal Relationships

  • Manages collaborative and results oriented relationships, acting as a respectful, courteous and professional representative of OCH with all workrelated contacts
  • Participates in management team meetings, departmental and corporate workgroups, committees and initiatives as identified
  • Works in collaboration with other staff in a team approach to service delivery

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of a University degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline
  • Experience working in an ERP or CRM environment both on premise and SaaS based
  • Experience in a variety of data integration technologies
  • ETL, flat files, XML, SOAP, web services, APIs etc.
  • Experience with, or formal training in continuous process improvement methodologies is an asset
  • Experience managing staff and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience managing staff in a unionized environment is an asset

KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and practices
  • Must possess general knowledge of relational databases and modern programming languages
  • Knowledge of ITIL and/or other IT service management frameworks is a plus
  • Knowledge of best practices related to change management
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and responsibilities of workers and supervisors
  • Must be familiar with all applicable statutory requirements, policies, procedures and guidelines relevant to area of work
