_Emelle's Market Bistro is gearing up for a busy summer season_
We are looking for on-site caterers; site chefs and servers.
We are looking for positive, reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team at our Sunshine Coast location.
We are based out of the Gibson's public market but have off premise events booked up and down the coast this summer.
Our event season begins in April and runs through until October. We are looking for full and part time workers. Shifts are weekdays, evenings & week-ends. Compensation will be determined based on previous experience.Servers:
- Assists the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize guests dining experience.
- Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables, and buffet.
- Sets up the front line with the equipment, plateware, and smallwares needed to effectively serve all food products.
- Loads and unloads plates, silverware, and other service equipment.
- Serves courses, clears dishware, and ensure that guests dining needs are taken care of.
- Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift.
Catering cooks:
- Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Preparing ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Cooking food in various utensils or grillers
- Prepare large volume of food to be served at weddings, conventions, meetings, and other large events or gatherings
- Prepare foods of many different types and styles, including entrees, side dishes, appetizers, salads, soups and desserts
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Ensure prepared food is stored properly for delivery to the establishment where food is being catered
- Adhere to proper food handling and preparation best practices to prevent foodborne illness
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen

- Good communication
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Hospitalityrelated kitchen or frontofthehouse experience preferred
- Food safe
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time
Salary:
$18.00-$25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Sunshine Coast, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
