Library Services Officer.
In this challenging position, you will report to the Library Services Manager and be responsible for providing technical services, resource organization, instructional support, and day-to-day access in-person and online to faculty, staff, and students, in support of learning, teaching, scholarship, and research in naturopathy.
This includes being the primary point of contact for in-person and online services, developing teaching and learning guides for faculty and students, delivering information literacy workshops, checking-in and shelving materials, performing original and copy cataloguing, and processing document delivery requests.
In consultation with colleagues you work to ensure the College's ends as they relate to learning and teaching are met.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Library Technician diploma required (completion of RDA, MARC Coding & Derived Cataloguing course or equivalent)
- Minimum one (1) year work experience in a Health Sciences library or similar environment
- Background in teaching and learning principles, evidenced by formal education, or demonstrated interest in higher education, pedagogy, or related fields an asset.
- Additional postsecondary education is an asset
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively
- with individuals at all levels within the organization
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Tact, discretion and ability to exercise professional judgment in a highly confidential environment
