***: The Patch Bay Coordinator is a liaison between the broadcast trucks and the building, creating patches to facilitate their broadcast. This is a part-time, hourly position.


A typical shift includes:

  • Creating patches for audio, video, cameras, telephone, Internet, intercom and fiber for TV broadcast, inhouse broadcast, radio, live transmission, and concert needs
  • Working jointly with the Technology, Broadcast, Game Entertainment, and Event Services departments
  • Troubleshooting and resolving various problems that occur between the trucks and the inhouse system, in a live broadcast environment
  • Creating a report of any maintenance that needs to be done
  • Creating and submitting reports for issues that arise during a shift, including internal hardware malfunctions/damage, etc.
  • Making recommendations to improve the Central Patch Bay, including equipment replacement and operating procedures

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Understanding of broadcast signal flow
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as required by the event schedule
  • Ability to learn the building quickly, including where the cable runs are, bulkhead locations and equipment rooms
  • Working knowledge of audio procedures and video systems, including the difference between the various types of signals and cameras
  • Knowledge and experience with audio and video equipment such as DA's, Scopes, knowing video formats, etc.
  • Ability to work in a high stress environment and make decisions under tight deadlines with a calm demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills to establish cooperative working relationships with a variety of internal and external technicians and clients
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, and ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
