  • Initiating and developing story and feature ideas through contact development, research and interviews
  • Shooting, writing, voicing and editing news stories for broadcast and online
  • Demonstrate strong editorial, visual and communications skills
  • Work effectively under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Display highly developed production values and present yourself effectively live, on location and in studio
  • Display creativity in the use of production graphics and other visual elements
  • Meet multiple daily deadlines

Skills and Experience you will bring:

  • Post-Secondary education in Journalism/Broadcasting or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years' reporting/anchoring experience is required
  • Must be proficient in creating, curating and developing content using digital operating systems for multiple platforms
  • Proven experience in diverse and inclusive storytelling
  • Must demonstrate strong news judgment in line with station objectives
  • Must work well under pressure, possess a desire to be the best, and have a positive cando attitude
  • Be able to meet strict deadlines, and work cooperatively with others in a teamwork setting
  • Proven onair presentation, including live remotes and unscripted material
  • Proven shooting and editing experience
  • Willingness to adapt to rapidly changing technology and workflows as well as show a willingness to learn new online skills in a multifaceted digital news operation
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills
  • Strong problemsolving skills
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and objectives
  • Ability to work independently
  • Valid driver's license
