We provide expertise in ground engineering and tunnel excavation with qualified personnel.Job Summary:
The payroll administrator will be responsible for coordinating the unionized workforce, payroll, and administration. Manage and maintain employee files, union deductions, remittances, and government deductions. This position will provide administrative support as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.) Enter weekly payroll for the unionized employees
- Input data from timesheets and production records
- Process PPE Request Forms for payroll purposes
- Reconciliation of hours, missed hours, and increases
- Compile data for advance payments
- Complete, verify, and process forms
- Handle all filing, faxing, and maintenance of employee records
- Maintain and update all payroll related correspondence
- Assist all levels of management and site engineers
- Coordinate employee timesheets, transfers, and promotions
- Prepare payroll reports for individual managers
- Provide payroll related information for union remittances & WSIB Reporting
- Balance weekly journal entry report
- Input payroll report data into financial spreadsheets
- Prepare input report for unionized wage increases
- Verify statements of earnings
- Respond to all timesheet related disputes
- Assist with the maintenance of the HR database
- Facilitate the new hire orientation when required
- Process ADP hire, employee change and termination forms
- Assist with the recruitment process
- Assist with the organization of social events
- Support charitable works and link to events.

Qualifications:
- 1 year's experience working as a Payroll Administrator in a unionized environment or equivalent, preferably in the construction industry
- Proficiency in preparing and processing payroll
- Experience working with ADP Workforce now as an asset
- Understand local federal and provincial regulations as they pertain to payroll and its processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Sharp analytical thinking abilities, seeking to draw connections to "why"
- Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Possess a valid G2 or G driver's license
