STRABAG is actively seeking a Project Coordinator for our Canadian division where he/she can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization.


Job Summary:


Under the direction of the Technical Office Manager the Project Engineer is mainly responsible for development and implementation of electronic data gathering and management.


Duties and Responsibilties:


  • Support and coordinate technical department in screening and administrating projects in prequalification and tender stage.
  • Support to plan, set up and carry out the Tender activities by identifying and following up project deliverables, requirements and timeline.
  • To execute the specific activities in coordination with concerned department heads/subcontractors within their field of expertise to achieve the project schedule within the budget and required quality
  • Monitor project pipeline and obligations during Project preparation.
  • Support collection of Organization Chart, Time Schedule, Manpower Histogram, Equipment List, Project Risk Assessment etc. during preparation.
  • Support developing Work Breakdown Schedules in order to distribute the packages and other tasks to the project staff, subcontractors, etc.;
  • Liaise with the Branch Management/Technical Director in respect of other required resources;
  • Review incoming transmittals, letters and other documents from the Employer / Subcontractors and Thirdparties, establish contractual or any other relevance to the Project and initiate appropriate action;
  • Support the project team; in particular Construction, Contracts, Commercial and Technical Department;
  • Follow up procedures and required documents and forms;
  • Follow all Quality Management Procedures, Health, Safety and Environmental Procedures and act and report immediately on noncompliances
  • Gain all related project information from the Tendering Department and attain information about initial steps, preexecution phases, compile the information and transfer to the project related parties, i.e. Design Institute, Project Team;
  • Liaise with the Client at all clientrelated communication for submission, RFIs, document up
- or download, such as documentation, addenda, extension of time or variations;

  • Check reports, attend meetings, motivate project team, identify project risks etc.

Knowledge and Skills:


  • Proficient with MS Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook)
  • Proficiency with CAD programs is considered an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-Motivated and flexible
  • Ability to multitask
  • Basic understanding of construction and sub construction contracts.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in Ontario (Toronto preferred)
  • Experience with surface works road works and utilities
  • Heavy Civil Construction experience (preferred)
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects

Physical Demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.

The employee is generally required to work on a construction site.
