What you'll be doing


As a key member of our institutional team, you will lead our Global Consultant Relations effort to build and maintain relationships with the Investment consultant community.

We are looking for an experienced professional who can work in partnership with consultants in an effort to increase the understanding and endorsement of CIBC Asset Management's (CAM) products and services.

You'll develop and execute proactive calling programs and presentations, promote company products, and respond to consultant inquiries and questionnaires.

  • At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 13 days per week onsite, while other days will be remote. Client interaction and travel will be required._


How you'll succeed- Client engagement - Conducting as a partner to the investment professionals of CAM and seeking to contribute to the overall business as well as to their functional responsibilities.- Provide solutions - Embracing a continuous improvement approach to the business and proactively seeking improvements in both their particular market and service approach across the entire business.

Willingly taking on the "hands on" work required given the comparatively flat nature of the organization.

Being accustomed to working in a matrixed environment where knowledge, talent and resources reside in multiple locations.- Collaborate - Contribute to CAM's professional, collaborative, and entrepreneurial culture by working collaboratively with all of the members and ensure that CAM is able to distinguish itself through the provision of distinctive, world-class investor service and communication.- Relationship building - Cooperate and collaborate with a variety of colleagues across the firm and enterprise, such as: Institutional Client Relations team, Institutional Business Development and Institutional Client Experience team.

Various support teams including Product, Marketing, Operations Management and Investment Services, Compliance and Legal, HR, Technology & Global Operations partners, CPMs in Fixed Income, Equity, Sustainable Investment, Private Markets and Currency & Multi Asset Management and Investment Teams.

Who you are- You can demonstrate experience in institutional distribution, specifically consultant relations for about 10 years. Deep knowledge of global investment consultants with developed contacts.

It's an asset if you demonstrate strong knowledge of both traditional investment products and alternatives, across all asset classes and diverse investment styles.

Strong knowledge of market developments and trends and responsive product development.- A high impact player in the investment business with an expertise in asset management - most likely from an independent asset manager, the asset management business of a bank or insurance company, or an investment consulting firm.

The individual will have held a senior role with organizations respected for their products, market penetration, strong sales efforts, and client service.- You have a degree/diploma in business, finance and/or economics.- You can present to clients, in sales processes, and with high performance content and communication for clients, consultants and prospects.- You're a certified professional.
