Champ Metal Fabrication is a privately-owned manufacturing company. Our experienced and talented team of employees at our two facilities in Winnipeg, Canada and Jamestown, USA.We specialize in medium-to-high volume fabrication and assembly of common and stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel sheet/tube metal, including laser cutting, forming, welding, assembly and painting.
Under the general direction of the Department Head of Purchasing, Estimating and Customer Service, while demonstrating a commitment to quality, efficiency and accuracy, the Estimator is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings while understanding the requirement to bid and win a project successfully.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Build customer relationships based on trust.
- Review and analyze customer quote requirements to provide accurate and competitive quotations using reliable subcontractors and suppliers that meet defined customer requirements.
- Verify contract documents and blueprints for accuracy and project materials.
- Work with business development, programming and production to address any concerns with the Customer to provide solution(s) that meet/exceed customer expectations.
- Source and select suppliers for raw material(s)
- Ensure historical data is used to refine the accuracy of quotes on an ongoing basis.
- Suggest estimating systems improvements to increase the process's efficiency and accuracy.
- Act as a liaison between programming, sales department and production to develop accurate quotes.
- Maintain complete records on all results of tenders and RFQs.
- Keep apprised of current events and trends within the industry.
- Comply with all corporate and jurisdiction Safety and Health Legislations.
- All other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Able to work in a fastpaced, highproduction environment.
- Able to be motivated to complete all tasks on a defined timeline.
- Able to communicate and work well with others in a team setting.
- Always maintain a professional attitude, especially when handling stressful situations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint and CAD drawings.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years experience in a manufacturing setting.
- A University degree will be considered an asset and is not a requirement.
- Proficient in Office 365
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for extended periods.
- Repetitive tasks.
- Able to lift 50lbs.
Working Conditions:
- 40hour workweek, with the potential of Overtime.
- Fastpaced manufacturing environment.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.

$45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
