Job Summary

  • Create software/digital solutions for current and new SCADA/MES clients.
  • Design detailed functional specifications and process flow diagrams.
  • Manage client relationship and project scope (give input on quotes and scheduling) under direction of Account Manager(s).
  • Execute preliminary visual samples for quoting and concept purposes.
  • Commissioning and debugging client systems (remotely or onsite).
  • Collaborate and mentor junior team members by providing direction and support.
  • Uphold safe work practices as per RidgeTech Automation's Health & Safety Program.

Job Qualifications and Skills

  • Post secondary education in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics & Automation, or Control Systems is required with 35 years of experience in the Controls and Automation industry.
  • A minimum of 35 years of Inductive Automation Ignition platform experience is required.
  • An Ignition Certification is required, Ignition Gold Certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience with the following platforms Wonderware, Rockwell (including Factory Talk Historian SE and View SE servers), and Simatic WinCC Open Architecture.
  • Proficient experience with JSON, Python, JAVA &.NET, T-SQL, or HTML/CSS.
  • Programming experience with current PLC, HMI, VFD, SCADA and motion control is a requirement.
  • Strong database experience with creating models and optimization techniques.
  • Creative mind for creating user friendly UIs and an ability to bring concepts to life within appropriate standards.
  • Proven ability to communicate well with both clients and fellow team members.
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail, and problemsolving skills.
  • Highly motivated team player with a positive attitude.
  • Hold and maintain a valid Class G license and have dependable transportation to get to client sites.

Work Environment

  • Work locations will include the Cambridge Office and client sites.
  • Following initial orientation and training, remote work opportunities will depend on project scopes, performance, and collaboration requirements.
  • Work hours are typically Monday to Friday for 4044 hours per week, with core hours being 9:00am 3:30pm.
  • Flexible start and end times may be utilized depending on client requirements and team collaboration.
  • Additional opportunities for overtime or travel may be available, depending on projects.


We strive to maintain a local workload, there may be an opportunity for both domestic and global travel in this position.

Locations and length of travel will vary depending on the projects and workloads at any given time. Please note that global travel will require a valid Canadian Passport and no travel restrictions.
