Oxford Builders Supplies Inc is growing and looking for a dedicated team member to deliver world class Construction Hoist & Scaffold Services to our valued clients across Ontario.

Our Toronto, ON branch is looking for a Director to lead our team with the safe delivery of construction hoists and scaffolding services.

The Director works under the general direction of the SVP and Operations Manager and is fully responsible and accountable for the construction hoist division servicing the Ontario construction industry.


As Director, Hoists you will:


  • Coordinate the client experience with sales, delivery, and/or erection and disassembly of hoisting and access scaffold systems consistent with customer, MOL, TSSA and branch requirements and goals.
  • Review and process important customer information (blueprints, plans, specifications, RFP's, bid and contract documents) and prepare timely, accurate and competitive bids for the rental and/or sale of construction personnel hoist and access related equipment.
  • Present proposals and demonstrations to customers in a convincing manner and respond to customer questions and/or objections to secure the sale. Negotiate terms of the sale to the best advantage of the company.
  • Have complete operational and managerial oversight monitoring the performance of the division, you will positively impact the culture, technology and processes providing strategy in terms of efficiency, capacity planning for people, equipment and the facility as well as managing the capital budget.
  • Ensure that the production forecast is achieved on schedule and in a costeffective manner.
  • Direct and train all staff, sales and marketing, engineering, project coordination, asset purchasing, all daily operations, equipment maintenance and compliance, division accounting and reporting, and all safety.
  • Work with a team in both a salary and unionized environment. Foster relationships with existing accounts and team.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a minimum of 5 years' experience with rack and pinion elevators, construction hoist and access equipment rental, sales, marketing, design, installation and estimating.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior role, leading a team and business.
  • You are able to lead, supervise, mentor and train, company employees, customers and employees as well as working groups, committees, and other staff in various areas of responsibility.
  • You possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel regularly, internationally, and overnight with possible relocation.
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, engineers, owners, construction personnel and field crews.
  • As a leader, you are hands on, a strong mentor and communicator of corporate goals, and you are known for your ability to drive results.
  • You have a knack for being able to improve the performance of staff, processes and equipment and do so in a way that motivates and engages employees.
  • You have a passion for continuous improvement, and you use your strong interpersonal and communication skills to gain buy in from a variety of stakeholders.
