    Position:Heavy Duty / Commercial Transport Technician

    Position Type: Full time, 40 hours / week

    Location: Saanichton, BC / Langford, BC / Duncan, BC / Nanaimo, BC

    Work Schedule: Various rotations available (M-F, T-S, Days/Evenings)

    Position Overview

    P&R Truck Centre Ltd, doing business as Velocity Truck Centre Canada, is growing and looking to add qualified Heavy Duty / Commercial Transport Technicians to the team We have openings in our Saanichton, Langford, Duncan and Nanaimo locations.

    Working in our shop, the Heavy Duty / Commercial Transport Technicians will contribute in one of Canada's best managed companies.     Compensation Plan

  • Competitive Base wages (depends on experience and certifications - i.e., Red Seal and CVI Ticket).

    • Primary Job Functions

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repairs, and maintain a variety of hydraulic truck mounted equipment.
  • Trouble shoot, diagnose, repairs, and maintain a variety of equipment ranging cranes, bucket trucks and hi rail.
  • Report to Foreman and Service management to assist with customer communication and satisfaction.
  • Ability to type out detailed stories of repairs to be caried forward or completed.
  • Ability to keep a clean and safe workspace.
  • Maintain efficient and accurate workmanship in a safe and professional environment.

    • Qualifications

  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certificate (Apprentice level 4 technician will be considered)
  • BC Class 5 driver's license (Class 3 with air brakes or Class 1 is considered an asset)
  • Mechanically inclined with a strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Customer service focused with effective communication skills.
  • Must be a motivated able to work in a fast paced, detailed, and processed driven environment .
  • Ability to work in a physical capacity including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift.
  • Use of computerized scanning equipment, able to use digital technology/mechanical software.
