Position Summary


As an extremely motivated HSE Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on site.

Reporting to the Director of Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ), you will be responsible for traveling between all Ventana project sites to help ensure consistent implementation of Ventana's HSE Program.

You will focus on the field implementation of Ventana's HSE Program and work in conjunction with another HSE Supervisor who focuses on the administrative portion of the program.


As a HSE Supervisor your key accountabilities will involve:

  • Conducting regular documented site inspections to ensure standards are met
  • Ensuring Ventana's HSE Program is consistently implemented as intended to meet WorkSafeBC & COR Requirements
  • Assisting projects with developing safety plans
  • Assisting Site HSE Coordinators with daytoday challenges on the jobsite
  • Participating in site toolbox meetings, trade meetings and morning meetings
  • Assisting with internal COR Audits
  • Answering questions from Site HSE Coordinators relating to HSErelated items
  • Evaluating project and trade HSE performance

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to respond to problems in a friendly and solutionoriented manner

As an HSE Supervisor your experience and qualifications will include:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience overseeing health and safety on a construction site as a CSO
  • Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) Certification
  • Occupational First Aid Level III (OFA 3) Certification
  • Fall Protection Certification
  • Confined Space Certification
  • COR Auditor Certificate
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Technical construction knowledge and aptitude
  • Solid knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations, policies, guidelines and standards.
  • You are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer.
  • Ability to effectively work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills
