JIAS Toronto is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to helping immigrants with resettlement in the Greater Toronto Area. JIAS Toronto assists lawfully admitted immigrants and refugees in meeting basic financial, social, legal, and other requirements of immigration.

We work to advance the well-being and social integration of newcomers by providing a full range of outreach, support, counseling, training, and referral resources.


JIAS Toronto is currently seeking an
Administrative Student to work closely with the Finance Manager, to assist with various administrative needs within the Agency.

This full-time position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs and requires the incumbent to be between the ages of 18 to 30 years of age and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
This position will pay $20 per hour up to 200 hours.



RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist staff with scanning, organizing, and preparing documents to upload into a case management system
  • Assist staff in arranging virtual meetings and telephone calls with collateral
  • Organize and maintain office record and files in their proper locations
  • Assist in coordinating the logístical aspects of the Agency programs and services, such as meetings, seminars and other events
  • Administer and manage inbound/outbound mail, including priority post, packages courier services, another other correspondence
  • Maintain stock area is clean and in presentable manner, ensure adequate level of office supplies
  • Assist with data entry
  • Other duties as assigned or required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Post-Secondary degree/diploma in a business administration, communications, or a related field
  • Experience with events and planning
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience using client record management systems
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be very detail oriented
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Fluency in languages that relate to the Agency client base will be considered an asset such as Hebrew, Russian, Arabic, Tigrinya, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Ukrainian, etc.
