ABOUT THE ROLE
As an experienced Site Superintendent, you will run the development of projects from planning to completion and ensure the smooth function of the day-to-day operations.
You thrive on leading projects and delivering them on-time and within budget by focusing on cost, safety, quality, and management.
- Plan, schedule, initiate, direct, and control construction projects from start to finish according to plans and schedule to ensure timelines, specifications and budget are met.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team; supervise employees and subcontractors, schedule daily/weekly site meetings as required, coach and train staff as required.
- Strategically plan and implement project work plan and manpower levels; schedule manpower to ensure safety, quality, cost and project milestones are met.
- Coordinate with sub trades, consultants, engineers and clients, maintaining positive work relationships, and ensuring subcontractors comply with project master schedule.
- Schedule inspections with municipality to meet building code requirements and with suppliers/installers.
- Proactively managing the site, anticipating potential issues before they arises, resolving problems on the spot, in a timely and effective manner.
- Prepare project report daily to accurately track progress, site events, inspections and other relevant information, and issue project schedules to subcontractors.
- Monitor all site instructions and change notices as required.
- Physical And Environmental Effort Required.
- Position requires a high degree of personal contact, with constant multitasking and a high degree of stress.
- May have to assist with carpentry and other manual Labour tasks on occasion.
- Long hours and/or weekend work may be required at times to maintain project schedule.
WHO YOU ARE
- Proven leadership skills: ability to guide staff in high pressure and fast paced work environments while maintaining project quality, schedule and budget.
- Capable of anticipating constructability issues in complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule.
- Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Working knowledge of local safety and health guidelines for construction job sites.
- Indepth understanding of construction operations, processes, and drawings.
- Proficiency with MS Office primarily word, excel and outlook, and MS Project.
- A strong work ethic, driven and results focused.
- Applies approach to get things done with the best interest for all groups
- Strong relationship building and negotiating skills
- Experience reading blueprints, specifications and interpreting drawings
- Dedicated to quality and service above all.
- Self motivated and stays abreast of all relevant construction and building codes, standards, and regulations.
- OFA Level 1 certified.
- Has a valid drivers Licence.
- Attention to detail and is extremely well organized
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
$100,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
