Description
WestCorp Solutions is seeking an Project Controller for our client in Rocanville, SK.


Tasks & Responsibilities:


  • Support the Project Manager(s) by preparing cost and progress reports that allow the assigned projects to be proactively controlled and managed.
  • Review existing project controls and systems. Where necessary, propose additional controls.
  • Audit purchases, funding requests to ensure compliance to capital plan and approved project budgets.
  • Audit, review, and adjust program budgets across the 5year plan.
  • Audit requests for funding.
  • Facilitate and track budget adjustments within the portfolio.
  • Establish the control budget and baseline schedule for new projects.
  • Align project cost reporting with the control budget.
  • Facilitate and report on contingency draw downs.
  • Interface with site accounting and financial functions as needed to communicate and ensure compliance to current capital program guidelines and best practices.
  • Utilize available software to monitor and control project costs (CapMap, Excel, Oracle, OBIEE).

  • Excellent organizational and time organization skills.
  • Ability to handle a large and varied workload.
  • Ability to review complex schedules and audit for completeness, practicality, and reasonable sequencing of tasks.
  • Ability to understand and manage work involving multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to lead project groups and guide projects.
  • Thorough decisionmaking and problemsolving skills.
  • Thorough technical writing skills.
  • Professional speaking abilities (i.e., speaking in public to groups, and via electronic media).
  • Ability to effectively communicate to technical and nontechnical people.
  • Proficiency with estimating project costs and forecasting cash flows.
  • Familiar with Primavera scheduling software (P6).
  • Proficiency with Oracle Business Intelligence software is an asset.
  • University degree or technical diploma.
  • Must be eligible to pursue a PMP designation.
  • PMP designation or significant experience in managing projects is considered an asset.
  • Formal education or significant experience in effective communication is an asset.
  • Ability to work Underground is required.
  • Understanding of Canadian potash mining is considered an asset
  • If selected for onboarding, you may be required to undergo a background check and substance test in accordance with job site policies._
