Position:
Project Manager - HRM


As a member of a professional and growing real estate management company, you will be responsible to prioritize, coordinate, and organize business tasks with a positive, professional approach in planning, scheduling, communicating, and organizing the activities of your position. You must be able to develop an understanding of the nature of the corporate environment of a Property Management company in order to anticipate its needs.

The day to day role is as follows but is not limited to
:


Job Description:
(open to position being either minimum 3 or 4 days per week or full time 40 hour work week)

This position will coordinate and supervise a variety of construction projects and report directly to the Director of Property Management as follows:

-
Tenant/Contractor Point of Contact - work with Tenants and Designers, in representing both Compass and the Building Owners, to develop requirements of the Lease:

-
Implement project budgets for review and approval; and submit timely progress reports:

-
Organize, estimate, price and oversee both tenant leasehold and capital projects, working as a team with project proponents, engineers, architects and others to determine final project specs

Conceptual and detailed designs:

Technical specifications:

Tender and construction phase services:

Record drawings:

Ensure that work is completed on a timely basis and in keeping with all municipal and building rules and regulations - experience with HRM Permitting processes an asset:

Negotiate any contracts with external suppliers/contractors and oversee billing for contractors along with project management fees:

Facilitate contractors site visits:

-
Identify and manage all construction deficiencies to satisfaction of both Tenant and/or Property Manager:

-
Develop relations and communications with clients, consultants, architects and subcontractors:

Other duties as assigned

Education/experience requirements:

-
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Project Management:

-
Undergraduate degree or Construction Management or PMP certification an asset:

-
Good knowledge of construction methodologies, project management models and financial management, familiarity with quality, health and safety standards:

-
Ability to manage conflict resolution:

-
Ability to multi-task and be self motivated:

-
Proficient with Office 365 (Word/Excel/SharePoint):

-
Familiarity with construction software an asset (CAD):

-
Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task with an eye for detail:

-
Confident interpersonal communication skills, displaying initiative and problem-solving abilities:

-
Personable, pleasant demeanor
