Youth Forensics Support Services

It is a condition of this posting that your home unit canaccommodate your temporary absence in the event

The Forensic Youth Social Worker provides assessment and treatmentservices to youth in contact with the criminal

justice system, who may be deemed unfit or not criminallyresponsible as a result of a mental health disorder.

Employment Requirements:

Masters in Social Work, and registered with the Ontario Collegeof Social Workers and Social Service Workers

Minimum of 3 years working experience with patients in aforensic mental health setting

Highly developed assessment skills

Experience consulting and collaborating with members of theclinical team

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, includingthe ability to formulate and type reports in a timely

fashion

Self directed and able to work independently

Thorough knowledge of theory and practice of professionalSocial Work, treatment and practices that would be

applied in a mental health or related setting such as CognitiveBehavioural Therapy for Psychosis and Dialectical

Behaviour Therapy

Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of community resources,the principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation or a

similar recover based model of care, the Mental Health Act and itsapplication, the Health Care Consent Act, the

Substitute Decision Act, the Ontario Review Board, and the YouthCriminal Justice Act

Salary Range: $44.670 to 57.900
