Job Purpose:


Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, Facilities, the Facility Technician is responsible for ongoing, maintaining daily operations, maintenance and (internal & external) repair and upkeep of equipment, building systems, components, furnishings and equipment at all Manitoba Lotteries locations.

Work is undertaken in a team environment in various shifts depending on the needs of the core business and its support functions and its assets, as well as preventative maintenance.


Responsibilities:


  • Review work service requests for any particular/specific requests that need attention for the day.
  • Complete daily preventative maintenance checklist (i.e. lighting, carpeting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
  • Conduct daily check on Apogee unit for temperature, RTU's, and all other operating units to ensure they are running properly.
  • Change filters and reset units as required.
  • Conduct external grounds inspection as it pertains to outdoor lighting, when necessary.
  • Respond to radio calls for urgent service and repairs etc.
  • Complete work orders and assist contractors.
  • Perform highpressure washing on equipment as required.
  • Check all lighting inside and outside the building and change light bulbs as required.
  • Monitor flooring for safety and repair as required.
  • Install, reconfigure and construct office modular furniture.
  • Maintain, replace and repair all chairs and stools (i.e. burns, rips, stains, breaks, etc.).
  • Change the felt on all Table Games table layouts and recover all bumpers.
  • Check all domestic water tanks, taps, sinks and kitchen appliances to ensure no sewer blockage and all are in proper working order.
  • Service all washrooms and ensure toilets and sinks are working properly.
  • Remove and replace any cracked toilets, urinals and sinks.
  • Perform any plumbing related repairs and maintenance.
  • Check and service sewer lift systems and grease traps.
  • Conduct visual check in all areas of the Casino (inside & outside) for any damages (chips, dents and touchups, etc.).
  • Perform touch ups and painting as required.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractor's activities to ensure specifications are completed properly.
  • Communicate larger issues to Supervisor/On Call and mitigate issues to delay service until casino closed hours where possible

Primary Qualifications:


  • Must have a Grade XII High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Certification in Power Engineer Class 5, BOMI-SMT (Systems Maintenance Technician) or formal training in a trade related to building maintenance (i.e. electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) is required.
  • Must have certification in Forklift, Scissor lift and Boom lift training which may be acquired on the job.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License.
