We are seeking a proactive and detail orientated
Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to join our team.

As a
Construction Safety Officer (CSO) and a member of the team, you will be responsible for proactively implementing and maintaining on-site safety programs and training.

Promote and maintain good working relationships and collaboration with peers, clients, consultants, and suppliers
Ensure safety is a priority that is managed in every project

SAFETY

Coordinate and educate out Team on compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and best practices onsite to meet or exceed all WorkSafeBC regulations and requirements
Meet regularly with team members to provide safety training, education, and guidance
Evaluate, implement and train sitespecific safe work practices & Safe job procedures, health and safety standards, programs, and practices
Stop unsafe work or any work that does not meet our requirements and standards
Participate and support staff in conducting effective incident investigations that identity underlying causes and effective corrective measures
Create and review incident reports, inspection reports and identify trends and provide appropriate recommendations
Provide site first aid, guidance, and support, as required
Assist with Joint Health & safety Committee meetings
Report site activities to the office Safety Lead
Maintain and replenish required safety and first aid on site

LABOURER

Assist with onsite with light labour, as required
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

5+ years of experience in safety roles in commercial, industrial, and civil construction
BC Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or National Construction Safety Officer Designation (NCSO)
A minimum of Level 2 safety certification
Exceptional communication, management, customer service, problemsolving, and organization skills
Strong construction safety leadership, and approach to all work
A high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
Highly Selfmotivated and accountable
Access to a vehicle and a valid BC Driver's License to drive to project sites throughout the lower mainland.
Demonstrated success in effectively mentoring and managing a team
Strong work ethic, highly motivated and enjoys a challenge
Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach
Solutionfocused with a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and allocate time/resources accordingly
