Do you want to be a part of the team bringing Meridian's innovations to life? We are currently seeking a dynamic leader to fill the position of Foreman for our project located in Chilliwack, BC.

Meridian is a real estate developer and multi-award winning residential and commercial construction company that designs and creates beautiful spaces.
What You Will Be Doing
The main purpose of the Foreman is to oversee the daily site operations to ensure the completion of projects in an efficient manner including supervision of crews and subcontractors.
This is a leadership position where less time is spent on tools and bridges the gap between management and workers.
This position is also responsible for management of tools and equipment on site. Further, you will be responsible for managing Meridian's safety program to ensure the highest of safety standards are maintained.Key areas of responsibility include:
- Participate in site safety and lead by example
- Supervision of workers
- Monitor subcontractor work progress
- Manage tools and equipment on site
- Contribute to revising weekly production schedule with Superintendent
How You Will Succeed
You are driven and build projects on schedule as envisioned according to Meridian's standard of detail and quality. You are a proven leader and motivate and mentor your team to produce quality work. You are personable and conduct yourself in a professional manner with trades, clients, direct reports and project team. You work effectively and in close communication with project managers and the site superintendent. You are detail oriented, a problem solver and decisive in difficult situations. You are adaptable to shifting focus multiple times in a day.
What You Will Need
- Journeyperson designation in a construction trade, Bachelor of Commerce degree, or a combination of related experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience on multifamily or large commercial projects
- Proven experience leading safe and productive construction sites of up to 100 trade workers
- Strong understanding of the construction trades and the sequencing of construction projects
- Ability to interpret construction drawings
- Structural wood framing experience an asset
- Willing to work weekends to maintain construction schedule
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment
- WHMIS
- Additional safety certifications are an asset but not required
- Experience working on sites with power mobile equipment and tower crane
- Valid driver's license
- Steel toed boots and own hand tools
- Computer experience required. Experience with Bluebeam and Procore a definite asset
