SPRING BREAK CAMP - S.T.E.M INSTRUCTOR POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Hiring for March 20-24 and March 27-31

Hours:
Full and part-time hours available

Locations:
West Shore Recreation and Royal Oak Middle School

Curriculum:
Minecraft, EV3 LEGO robotics, hands-on engineering projects.

Pay range is $ $20.80 ($18-$20 plus 4% vacation pay). Based on experience.

Engineering For Kids, we inspire kids ages 4 to 14 to build on their innate desire for answers by exploring engineering concepts in a fun, hands-on way.

We offer afterschool programs, evening and weekend classes, camps, birthday parties, and special events designed to present kids with challenging yet accessible engineering activities from which they can learn and grow.

Our programming is delivered throughout Greater Victoria, Sooke, and Sidney. We provide everything you need to successfully lead classes/ camps including supplies, equipment and foundational curriculum.

Our instructors often bring their own creative ideas, passions, and expertise to the classroom, and we love this
Primary Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Travel to locations and work alongside a co-leader to deliver curriculum
  • Provide appropriate instruction that considers the unique abilities of every student
  • Encourage student involvement and engagement
  • Assisting students both in a group and and individual basis
  • Create and maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all
  • Act as a role model for students
  • Be professional, courteous and approachable to students, parents, and staff
  • Follow policies around creating an inclusive environment, safety procedures, dress code, and other policies

Secondary Responsibilities, may include:


  • Packing materials and transporting these to and from the class locations
  • Providing feedback on curriculum

You are someone who:


  • Has worked with children (experience managing large groups is an asset)
  • Can break down and explain challenging concepts in a way that children can relate
  • Has experience in the service industry and understands the importance of customer service
  • Can communicate clearly and concisely and enjoys speaking in front of groups of children
  • Can think on your feet and find solutions to everyday class/camp issues or challenges
  • Has a real interest and experience in S

TEM fields - particularly:
engineering, robotics, coding, Minecraft

  • Has a real interest in teaching and engaging children through handson play and activities

Must have/Be willing to obtain:


  • Emergency first aid and CPR C
  • Clean police check to work with children (within last 4 months)
  • Vehicle to travel to location. You may be required to pick up/ return equipment and supplies to our homebase in East Saanich.
