This Seasonal role will assist the Building Supervisor in the day to day operations and maintenance of the overall facility.

Seasonal General Maintenance & Operations Worker is responsible for:
Carry out maintenance and/or cleaning tasks that are assigned by the Building Supervisor.
Assist the team with completing work-orders submitted through the Angus Anywhere maintenance software

Assist the team in the operation and inspection of all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, elevating and life safety systems in order to ensure energy efficient performance.

Perform repairs and preventative tasks on lights, ballasts, washroom fixtures, etc. and any other equipment so as to ensure they are maintained to a satisfactory health and safety standard.
Operate and perform daily inspections of the Building Automation system. This includes modifying set points, schedules, and equipment operation to maximize energy efficiency.
Keep all roof areas litter free
Report and replace roof flags
Installation of signs, posters, decals, and other items as requested
Wash and clean areas as requested
Keep truck tunnel clean and safe
Clean and tidy electrical and mechanical rooms
Ensure all parking decks and staircases are clean
Operate power tools, and equipment such as Litter Vac, Sweeper, John Deere tractor and Kubota
Assist with relocation or delivery of items for events and/or activities at Yorkdale


Health and Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Bring any noted hazards to the immediate attention of a Manager or Supervisor
Notify, as appropriate, all occupants, employees, customers, suppliers, contractors, etc regarding any potential hazards

Participate, understand and comply with any instruction, training, policies, procedures or information provided to you regarding avoidance of potential hazards and unsafe work procedures.

Understand the progressive discipline process can be applied in cases where there are violations of health and safety procedures
Cooperate in any accident, illness, injury or near-miss investigations as requested by a Manager or Supervisor
Be aware of and comply with any workplace or legislative requirements with regards to job safety

Adequately trained in the safe and effective conduct of respective job and if not, bring this to the immediate attention of a Supervisor or Manager.

Work at all times in a healthy and safe manner
Any other role-specific duties pertaining to Health and Safety that are applicable to this position, either currently or in the future that may or may not be detailed above


Additional Duties:

Ensure that unsafe areas have pylons or barriers placed at all times
Notify Supervisor immediately of any equipment malfunctions or deficiencies
Monitor potholes throughout the property and fill when needed
Assist Supervisor in other duties as required or requested


Safety Responsibilities:

Attend all required health & safety training
Follow safe work instructions and assists in prevention
Complies with H&S regulations and company policies
Does not operate any equipment without prior training
Use all required PPE where indicated
