Venor is proud to partner with our client, an established engineering firm, in their search for a Human Resources Manager . The role will lead and deliver ongoing people and culture initiatives within the organization.

As a member of the Leadership team, the Human Resources Manager will lead all HR functions within the business including employee engagement, talent & performance management, onboarding/orientation, benefits & incentive compensation, training and development, recruitment administration, and HR policies and programs. With HR viewed as a strategic business partner, this is an opportunity to make an impact by championing new people & culture initiatives in a forward-thinking organization.

What you'll be doing:

Ongoing delivery and continuous improvement of all human resources programs including compensation, benefits & leave, employee relations/recognition, performance management, recruitment administration
Cultivating strong employee relations by providing support, addressing concerns, and fostering a culture of respect and collaboration
Developing and facilitating engaging training and development programs that enhance employee skills and contribute to their professional growth
Ensuring compliance with labour laws and company policies, fostering a fair and equitable workplace for all employees
Working with the leadership team to identify new initiatives in support of the business and leading their implementation
Handling ongoing HR administration including maintaining employee records and HR software (currently ADP but open to evaluation)
Staying up-to-date on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Conducting or acquiring background checks and employment eligibility verifications

What we are looking for:

5+ years of experience as a Human Resources Manager or similar role
Positive and proactive attitude, with a desire to make a significant impact on the company's HR function
Resilience and a growth mindset with a hands-on approach to their work
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to build relationships across the business
Ability and confidence to lead new initiatives and be the advocate for HR best practices in the organization
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HR systems and software
Professional Services experience is considered an asset
CPHR designation is considered an asset
Bachelor's degree or certificate program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset
