Responsibilities:
JOB LOCATION:
1 Commerce Valley Dr E, Thornhill, ON L3T 7X6
ONSITE:
_This is an on-site role as the hiring team will require the student to work in the Markham office throughout the entire duration of the co-op work term.
COVID-19 protocols are being strictly followed._Program Term
- This role is a 12month position

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
As heterogeneous compute continues to grow within the industry, Multimedia is a key component in the development of leading-edge technology to enable the best possible visual experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement encoding/decoding software under Windows and Linux within the Multimedia Driver and firmware
- Validate functionality for upcoming hardware platforms within emulation environments
- Assist in resolution of customer, quality, and certification issues
- Actively participate in design reviews and discussions
Education Requirements:
- Enrolled within a University Program in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Software Development experience
- Windows and/or Linux development experience in C/C++
- Proficient in Object-Oriented design & development
- Lowlevel programming and debugging skills would be an asset
- Knowledge of Video Compression technologies and algorithms would be an asset
- Knowledge of digital video concepts would be an asset
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Team player with good communication skills
