Role Responsibilities
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is an integrated investigative unit of civilian investigators and seconded police officers responsible for the effective, independent, and objective investigation of incidents where serious injury or death of a person may have been caused by a police officer and serious or sensitive allegations of police misconduct. This small specialized team of investigators is led by a civilian Executive Director.
ASIRT's mandate encompasses the investigation of any potential conduct, including sexual assault, obstruction of justice, perjury, breach of trust, theft, fraud, trafficking in controlled substances, criminal negligence causing death etc. As one of the broadest mandates in the country, investigations are both challenging and increasingly complex.

ASIRT is seeking a candidate with experience and background in law enforcement to join our team as a Civilian Investigator. You will carry out investigations in a credible, fair and balanced manner. You are a skilled, professional and respectful investigator who adheres to the highest standards of investigative excellence and who possesses good judgment, honesty, integrity and strong ethical values. As the successful candidate you will be committed to enhancing public confidence in policing and ensuring accountability.
Candidates must be prepared to travel anywhere within Alberta, to the Yukon, and other Provinces and Territories as required.
