A newly created strategic plan that is rooted in collaboration, growth, and impact has helped guide the organizations in a direction that will support enhancing critical care and research throughout HSN. Our plans are ambitious, because the health needs of the communities HSN serves are significant and important.

Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, will play a pivotal role in assisting with the development and execution of fundraising initiatives, and supporting staff in preparing for upcoming large-scale campaign milestones.

This includes working collaboratively with various Foundation team members to build strong relationships to ensure a successful outcome of all campaigns and activities.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Work collaboratively with the Major Gifts team and Foundations at HSN staff in all donor management and fundraising initiatives, including allnew comprehensive Campaign development and execution
  • Assist in preparation of donor reports (donor research including giving history, community involvement and areas of support)
  • Support Frontline Fundraising staff in identifying and soliciting donations from community members, businesses and foundations
  • Research and update existing donor records, ensuring information is relevant and recent
  • Support Major Gifts team in identifying and researching high impact Donor Prospects or foundations and building strategies for approach
  • Provide support to Foundations staff in proactive communication projects (for example, aid in printing, packaging, and distributing largescale solicitations or stewardship pieces)
  • Provide detailed notetaking during campaign & strategy meetings to assist to ensure action items are captured
  • Participate in crossfunctional events, programs, campaigns and projects as needed
  • Communicating with Donors and members of the public in a thoughtful and professional manner

OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED

  • Due to the nature of this role, some evening and weekend work will be required.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:


  • Diploma/degree in public relations, communications, marketing, event planning or related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • General knowledge of industry standards and best practice, and practical experience in fundraising or charitable giving is preferred
  • Proven creative and strategic thinking;
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects while delivering on schedule;
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of professionalism and skilled at maintaining composure under pressure;
  • Ability to lead by example and achieve the desired results by supporting others;
  • Ability to outline and meet or exceed goals;
  • Valid driver's license and daily access to a reliable vehicle;
  • Bilingualism is a definite asset;

WORKING CONDITIONS:


Standard work week of 37.5 hours, but evening, weekends, and overtime hours may be required.- This role is required to work from an office at Health Sciences North.
