JOB OVERVIEW:


The Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE) is looking for a Content Writer who is committed to our shared goal of increasing employment equity for Canadians who experience disability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Write compelling and concise elearning content in alignment with existing design plans. This includes developing learning objectives, formative and summative assessment, modular content, learning aids, scenarios and activities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion across all elearning content.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to adapt to changing demands and ensure that deadlines are achieved.
  • Be familiar with the 9 Guiding Principles, CASE's commitment to accessibility, CASE's best practices in elearning, relevant project briefs, branding guidelines, the principles of universal design and adult education, etc.
  • Perform regular website text change requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • Ability to create relevant and engaging content for online courses along with learning objectives, assessments, and supporting materials.
  • Excellent written communication skills able to succinctly communicate complex topics through a learnercentric lens.
  • Ability to write effective and concise copy, curriculum, instructional text, audio and video scripts.
  • Solid knowledge of course development software and at least two learning management systems including: Articulate 360, Canva, Camtasia, PowerPoint and TalentLMS/D2L Brightspace/BlackBoard Learn/Moodle, etc.
  • Ability to work in SharePoint and MS Office to communicate and maintain project documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, collaborative environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • BA degree in communications or instructional design.
  • Certificate(s) in Instructional Design, writing and/or UX.
  • Strong knowledge of learning theories, the principles of universal design and adult education, and WCAG compliance.
  • Willingness to learn more about the field of supported employment, accessibility, diversity, inclusion, and equity.
  • Experience designing elearning that is accessible for all. This includes an understanding of relevant accessibility legislation, the principles of universal design, and the principles of adult education.

HOURS OF WORK AND SALARY:


  • This is a fulltime (37.5 hours / week) 18month contract position beginning April 23, 202
  • There is the potential for contract renewal based on available funding.
  • The rate of pay is $32/hour.
  • The position also includes 3 weeks paid vacation / year plus 4% RRSP matching and health benefits after 3 months.
