    Description

    Reports to the General Manager, the Senior Estimator supports all Pacific Bids & Estimates and helps develop price proposals by performing estimating duties such as bid document management and organization, preparing take-offs for construction projects and researching information for incorporation into bids.

    Reviews tender documents and attends pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates.
    # Manage quantity surveys and take-offs as required.
    # Reviews and incorporates historical data from prior estimates, purchase agreements and subcontracts in order to gain information for current bids.
    # Analyzes and evaluates bids from subcontractors for their completeness and accuracy in scope of work.
    # Develops scope of work for subcontractors and suppliers.
    # Solicits subcontractor/vendor for pricing.
    # Creates initial construction schedule and cash flow forecast.
    # Tracks and follows upcoming projects within SharePoint and updates weekly.
    # Prepares and presents project turn over package upon award of contract.
    # High School graduation plus post-secondary training in a relevant field.
    Proficiency in reviewing contract documents.

    Proficiency utilizing common business and estimating applications such as Microsoft Office products, Hard Dollar, Explorer or JD Edwards software.

    This is a full-time office position; occasional weekend or night work may be required; occasional exposure to outdoor construction sites in all weather conditions may be required; majority of the field work is on and around live track (trains); LI-RG1-PNR All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment with PNR RailWorks without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or any other characteristics protected by law.
