Description

In addition to supporting the delivery of programming and the development of group content in response to identified needs of the forensic population, the Treatment Mall Facilitator will provide support and guidance to additional group facilitators to ensure program requirements and quality standards are successfully met.

The Treatment Mall Facilitator will collaborate with the multidisciplinary forensic teams and patients to triage referrals and determine programming and individual patient needs throughout their recovery.


Role and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for creating, organizing and developing Treatment Mall Procedures and Processes
  • Coordinate the delivery of services that provide education, increase insight and support patient rehabilitation while reducing risk associated with relapse and recidivism
  • Reviewing the needs of Forensic Treatment Mall to direct further facilitation and development of new group content
  • Coordinate and support the direction of Treatment Mall Facilitators, encompassing allied staff and nurses to ensure program requirements are successfully met and maintained
  • Provide support to staff on facilitation skills and documentation standards for group charting and ORB requirements
  • Process the referrals for Treatment Mall services (make recommendations, input and screen referrals)
  • Ensure the coordination and development of program content meets quality standards
  • Responsible for reviewing and gathering data that outlines patient engagement in therapeutic services for fiscal reports and annual planning
  • Participate in research evaluation to support enhanced communication, best practices and increasing quality of care
  • Lead codesign initiatives (patient led workshops, patient committee)
  • Knowledgeable in requirements of group content and understanding of Quality Standards for Schizophrenia, IMR, Concurrent Disorders, Good Lives Model and additional program specific group
  • Demonstrate excellent critical thinking, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills as well as strong communication and leadership skills
  • Strongly advocate for patients and treatment programming
  • Demonstrate commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and the promotion of ensuring services are accessible to all individuals within the Forensic Program
  • Work under pressure, in a fastpaced environment with multiple demands, while being able to meet deadlines

Requirements/Qualifications:


  • Regulated Health Professional and/ or undergraduate degree in health/ social science or related field
  • Undergraduate Degree would be considered an asset.
  • Current CPR-HCP is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery.
  • 35 years in forensic mental health experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidencebased practices and therapeutic modalities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health, and relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required.
  • Ability to work effectively individually as well as part of an interprofessional team.
  • Thorough knowledge and ability to administer mental status examinations, psychosocial and crisis assessments.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Forensic system, including ORB report requirements
  • Proven ability to exercise mature, effective judgment and behaviour in emergency situations.
  • The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position.
  • Variable hours may be required, due to patient demands
