Job Description:

Purpose of Position


Accountable for developing and maintaining high-quality and engaging digital communications products and for enhancing website/digital technical solutions in support of FSRA's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daytoday posting activities for social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) by understanding best practices for each platform, the social media advertising formats available, and how to implement strategic storytelling within each social platform's ecosystem.
  • Coordinates eblast production and continuously works on ways to improve open
- and click through rates, while understanding how it fits in with a 360-channel multimedia approach.

  • Designs and develops content across multiple social media platforms/networks.
  • Ensures content is consistent across presentations, platforms, and channels, is relevant to users, aligns with organizational objectives, and FSRA's look and tone.
  • Works collaboratively with the team on compiling metric and trend reports, allowing Public Affairs to leverage analytics to create actionable insights for program areas.
  • Provides project management and support of the execution of the various campaigns, as part of the team and with external vendors, to educate Ontario consumers.
  • Develops digital communications strategies that maximize FSRA's online and social media presence.
  • Provides support for FSRA events including coordination and basic technical support for virtual events.
  • Conducts routine testing, quality assurance audits, and accessibility testing of websites and digital/ social media products to ensure functionality and compliance with FSRA's web standards/policies as well as accessibility and privacy legislation (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act).
  • Provides proofreading, and quality assurance support to the team.
  • Supports continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities to incorporate advances in digital/social media technology.

Qualifications:


Education and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media or Visual Communications or a related field. (An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.)
  • Three to five years of experience managing social media for an organization.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of digital communications or marketing communications tools and best practices in new media, design, content development and social media trends.
  • Knowledge and understanding Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and paid and earned digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of web reporting technologies (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.) to prepare reports on website usage.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, etc.) to ensure compliance of web and digital content.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities and drive innovative approaches and solutions across multiple digital channels.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and consultation skills to se a consultative and consensus building approach to develop cooperative efforts with internal clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, problem solve, and multitask.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical tactics in the context of the business results.
