    Job Opening: Induction Maintenance Lead Hand

    We currently have an opening for a full-time permanent Induction Maintenance Lead Hand based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Reporting to the Induction Maintenance Crew Lead, the Induction Maintenance Lead Hand will be responsible for supervision and guidance of AME's, personnel allocation, scheduling, able to work under varying supervision on aircraft undergoing conversion to Air Tankers, including heavy maintenance, troubleshooting and major component replacements. Able to operate independently and exercise good judgment.

    Duties include:

    1. Lead a team of AME's in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on aircraft undergoing Air Tanker conversion;
    2. Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks;
    3. Conduct thorough inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft systems, components, and structures;
    4. Provide technical guidance, training, and support to maintenance technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge;
    5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs performed;
    6. Collaborate with the Induction Maintenance Crew Leaders to develop maintenance schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans;
    7. Ensure compliance with Conair policies & procedures and Transport Canada Requirements;
    8. Participate in safety meetings, investigations, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.

    Requirements:

    • Strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, and components;
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with demonstrated leadership capabilities;
    • Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, drawings, and schematics;
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills;
    • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities;
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities;
    • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement;
    • Ability to act with professionalism particularly in the face of opposition;
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

    Training/Education:

    • Holder of Transport Canada Licenses M1 or M2;
    • Successful completion of an AME category M training course from a Transport Canada Approved Training Organization;
    • Q type training and experience considered an asset.
