Major Job Responsibilities

  • Process Accounts Payable including matching invoices to purchase orders and receiving reports using a variety of payment methods
  • Cheques
  • Epayables
  • Electronic Fund Transfer
  • Wires
  • Online Bill Payments
  • Maintain recurring payments file ensuring all contract are up to date
  • Process scheduled payments i.e. tax installments, debenture payments
  • Prepare regular reconciliations of Accounts Payable Subledger as well as a variety of other balance sheets and clearing accounts,
  • Audit purchasing card transactions from Online Visa on a biweekly basis, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Process accounts payable adjustments as requested
  • Complete yearend accounts payable related tasks: reconciliations and analysis, compilation of working papers and support documentation for the audit folders,
  • Maintain policy and procedure documentation for all assigned tasks
  • Assists departments with financial research, account analysis and reconciliations as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with corporate objectives
Education and Experience

  • Postsecondary diploma in a business related field with specialization in Finance and/or Accounting
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in the accounting field, preferably in
  • Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Board Standards is preferred
  • Understanding of accounting related legislative reporting requirements (i.e. Financial Statements) and experience with the auditing process is preferred
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products, including advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning and financial software is preferred
  • Experience with CMiC, PerfectMind, CLASS POS, FMW, TixHub and Vtech is considered an asset
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, time management and customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, to adapt to changing priorities, meet strict deadlines and to deal with interruptions



Salary Range:
$55,849-$69,811
