As a Designated Substances & Hazardous Materials Specialist you will:

  • Co-ordination and execution of field work associated with designated substances and hazardous materials services;
  • Preparation and/or review of technical reports;
  • Management of project financials and schedules;
  • Communications with clients to assist with the development and execution of work;
  • Proposal preparation and/or review;
  • Ensuring high quality technical work, including field methodology, reporting, and client deliverables;
  • Fostering an atmosphere of continuous improvement through onthejob coaching and guidance to staff;
  • Proactively committing to creating a positive work environment;
  • Supporting and/or developing Health & Safety programs;
  • Collaborating with other disciplines at EnVision with respect to multidisciplinary projects;
  • Travel to sites within the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario, as needed; and,
  • In addition, any other functions assigned as part of your employment

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Degree or Diploma in related discipline
  • 4+ years of prior consulting experience working in the field of designated substances and hazardous materials or other related disciplines
  • Proven success in client relationship management and strong leadership skills
  • Comfortable interacting with the public, clients, contractors, and coworkers
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, and to proactively respond to timesensitive issues
  • Excellent English (verbal/written) communication skills
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn and teach
