Youth Worker - Toronto, Canada - Kinnect Support Services
Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct, quality care and supervision to youth in a residential environment.
- Ensure the safety and security of the residents in the facility.
- Complete reports and documentation as needed.
- Participate in the daily operation of the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University or College degree/diploma in Child and Youth Care
- At least 2 year relevant experience working with youth in a residential setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of the complex issues and challenges facing our clients.
- Have empathy and strengthsbased relationship based approach
- Sensitivity to and ability to work with diverse youth from all communities
- Good communication skills verbal and written.
- Good administrative and computer skills, able to provide case notes and submit daily logs.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- Valid "Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behavior" certification.
- Valid "First Aid/CPR" certification.
- Completion of required suicide prevention and intervention training.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check within 6 months.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time
Salary:
$19.00-$22.00 per hour

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
