Kinnect Support Services is a social services partner that provides trained staff support to various organizations in need of relief staff.
Our team offers support to agencies that work with children and youth who experience behavioral, social, emotional, physical, and psychiatric difficulties.
Areas of Service:
Toronto, GTA
Settings:
Schools, Transitional Housing, Live-in Treatment, Group Homes, Private Homes, and other community settings
General Overview
We are seeking qualified Child and Youth Workers to support our partner social service agencies in Toronto and the GTA area.
You will have the opportunity to create your schedule based on your availability and skills set as well as the needs of the agencies we support.
Work Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, quality care and supervision to children and youth in their respective settings
- Ensure the safety and security of the children and youth in the facilities by following all protocols/routines
- Have an understanding of supporting individuals with complex care needs in a sensitive and respectful manner, in all areas of their lives
- Duties will include supporting with specific client goals, daily routines, developing and implementing recreational and therapeutic activities, behavioral and crisis management, and implementing support plans
- Record client data and complete reports and documentation as needed
Qualifications:_
You must have:
- University or College degree/diploma in Child and Youth Care
- Level 1 First Aid / CPR Certificate.
- Must have valid UMAB or CPI training or willingness to obtain
- Must have 1+ year experience working with Autism, Mental Health, Behavioral, and/or Developmental Disabilities
- A valid Vulnerable Sector Check within 6 months, or willing to get a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Demonstrated understanding of the complex issues and challenges facing students.
- Have empathy and strengthsbased, relationshipbased approach.
- Sensitivity to and ability to work with diverse children and youth from all communities.
- Good communication skills verbal and written.
- Good administrative and computer skills, able to provide case notes and submit daily logs.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- Must have a reliable source of transportation

Salary:
$19.00-$24.00 per hour
