Your contribution


We are looking for a Transportation & Dangerous Goods Specialist located in our Boisbriand office, with bold ideas that deliver value to our partners and advance our industry.

In your role, you will:


  • Define, maintain and standardize operational policies and processes associated with transportation (Routing Matrix).
  • Manage MHIRJ freight carrier accounts, including vendor relationship with MHIRJ carriers
  • Develop, configure and implement KPI reports to measure carrier performance, monitor issues and drive action plans.
  • Determine the most costeffective methods of preparation of freight for shipment, rates to be applied, and mode of transportation to be used if not defined in Routing Matrix
  • Carryout cost optimization and cost control initiatives regarding MHIRJ shipments.
  • Provide analytical assessment of daytoday issues, as well as strategic opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure carrier invoices comply with existing agreements and address any exceptions
  • Provide DOT/IATA informational support for shipping activities
  • Support, maintain and audit Dangerous Goods procedures and processes, including handling and shipping processes with carriers
  • Monitor SAP generated reporting to ensure hazardous materials are properly coded
  • Evaluate existing hazardous materials to ensure proper MSDS sheets are available

Key qualifications:


  • You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in transportation management, freight or carrier management, international commerce or related field.
  • You have a Bachelors degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or similar field
  • You have strong experience in the handling and shipping of Dangerous Goods, including MSDS sheets and associated regulatory risks. Dangerous Goods Regulations training is an asset.
  • You have working knowledge of DOT (Dept. of Transportation) and IATA regulations
  • You have basic knowledge of FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and (FAR) Federal Aviation Regulations
  • You have interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals and departments.
  • You have strong problemsolving skills, ability to troubleshoot and propose solutions
  • You have excellent organization and time management skills, as well as adaptability to change
  • You have the ability to work independently and with limited supervision
  • You have good English language skills (reading/ writing/ speaking)
