As we continue to grow, we seek a skilled Building Materials Procurement Coordinator specializing in building materials to join our dynamic team.
Position Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers of building materials, ensuring the best prices, quality, and delivery terms.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about the latest trends in building material prices and new products.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure the most costeffective deals without compromising on quality.
- Perform detailed material takeoffs from project plans and specifications to ensure accurate procurement of required materials and to assist in budgeting and planning.
- Coordinate with project managers and the finance department to forecast procurement needs and budget implications.
- Implement procurement strategies that align with the company's sustainability goals and compliance standards.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely procurement of materials to avoid project delays.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier performance to ensure contractual obligations are met and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Resolve issues and discrepancies related to procurement, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare reports on procurement activity for senior management review.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience within the building material supply industry.
- Experience as a sales representative for a building material supplier is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of building materials, market trends, and supplier networks.
- Proven negotiation skills with a track record of securing costeffective deals.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions quickly.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
