Reporting To:
The Accounting Specialist is reporting to the Manager - Accounting & Finance
Job Duties
- Assess budgets, control expenses, and communicate with departmental leaders to stay abreast of spending, budgeting, reports, and evaluation.
- Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all activities.
- Understand on the content and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Ensure that all monthend financial duties and resulting financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Record all business transactions, process accruals and adjustments, reconcile accounts, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and financial statements.
- Maintain yearend working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any internal or external audits or independent reviews being conducted
- Collect, interpret, and report on financial data.
- Prepare financial statements and bank reconciliations.
- Process and enter invoices for payment, match invoices with purchase orders, and check for accuracy.
- Prepare monthly submissions for accounting and monthly remittances.
- Tax Filing to make sure compliance with applicable tax legislation.
Job Requirements
- Degree or diploma in business, finance, or accounting field.
- 12 years of experience in the accounting and financial industry.
- Ability to analyze numerical data in tables, spreadsheets, and other tools (Excel spreadsheet skills are highly recommended).
- Basic knowledge and experience of accounting systems and ERP systems.
- Basic or intermediate knowledge in generally accepted accounting rules, ASPE/IFRS, Income tax acts (T1 & T2), and related reporting requirements.
- Ability to understand and calculate financial terms such as discounts, interest rates, proportions, percentages, taxes, budgets, internal controls, etc.
- Superb time management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
- High level of jobrelated integrity and excellent work ethic.
- Bilingual in English and Korean is a strong asset.
