How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:
The Junior Education Interpreter assists with the delivery of selected environmental, cultural heritage, nature, recreation, and renewable energy programs (dependent on location) to visitors and visitor groups of TRCA/partner sites and facilities, as well potentially at client sites.
Major Responsibilities:
- Supports with the guidance of visitors to TRCA's sites and facilities on established programs focused on environmental, cultural heritage, nature, recreation and renewable energy (dependent on location).
- Engages with audiences, welcoming them to TRCA's sites and facilities (dependent on location)
- Helps to ensure program materials are available and accessible
- Learns program content to be able to effectively deliver selected interactive programs
- Helps to keep program items and artifacts well maintained, clean and appropriately stored
- To aid in skill development, learns to research and develop basic level programs, under supervision, and as required
What will you need to succeed:
- High School Diploma and actively pursuing a post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field.
- Ability to deliver information to audiences of various ages, adapting style to ensure audience appropriateness
- Ability to communicate effectively with tact and courtesy
- A Youth between 15-30;
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or persons who have been granted refugee status in Canada;
- Legally entitled to work in Canada;
