Procurement Specialist


Job Summary


Reporting to the Procurement Managers based in the Abbotsford office, this position supports the procurement function at TerraLink by purchasing materials from suppliers and addressing any supply issues.

This position includes coordinating production requirements aligned with sales forecasts and our sales team.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze, and negotiate Requests for Proposals with suppliers for resale and production requirements, and source new suppliers when required.
  • Maintain strict control over inventory levels for production to meet sales and production demand.
  • Coordinate the movement of purchased materials and supporting documents to verify the accuracy of billing and shipping and identify discrepancies with shipments.
  • Communicate all delays or variances of inbound freight to the appropriate parties.
  • Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and/or hazardous materials.
  • Enter and compile data to generate reports to be used for planning and costsaving initiatives and operate within budget.
  • This position functions as part of a Procurement team at the Abbotsford location and will coordinate work with other staff, and work in close collaboration with production and sales departments ensuring that procurement aligns with production and sales forecasts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities and Other required

  • Highly developed ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing in English, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office products including Excel/Word and the ERP system D36
  • Highly Organized, able to recognize and prioritize issues to ensure excellent time management, adaptable.

An agronomic background that includes a post-secondary diploma or degree is required

  • Supply Chain and procurement experience is required.

Working Conditions


The job is performed at a workstation for up to 8 hours per day under standard office conditions for over 95% of the work but may involve meeting warehouse sales/staff or participating in off-site meetings as required.
