Business Overview
As part of the Human Resources function, the Learning and Development team provides the organization with the learning and performance support needed to meet business objectives by creating simple, innovative and effective training and performance solutions.
What You Will Do
The Learning Design Consultant role is an exciting opportunity to bring together your passion for learning and technology to design new and enhance existing training products/solutions to support business needs.
This includes leading the effective design, development, implementation and maintenance of eLearning, workshops, social learning and other materials for new and existing business initiatives to support Fidelity Canada's needs.
- You will provide technical support for the learning management system as required
- Leveraging your knowledge of learning and design principles, you will create interactive and engaging instructional materials and performance support tools for classroom and webenabled courses for synchronous and asynchronous education
- You will work collaboratively with the learning & development team to provide consultation on design for projects
- Your strong communication skills will be required to edit course materials, develop integrated content, and to facilitate training programs and meetings as require
- Completion of a university degree, preferably in a learning, design, or communication related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience
- Prior experience with a learning management system and/or eLearning authoring tools (i.e. Captivate, Lectora and/or Storyline) required
- Sound knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and methods of evaluation
- Background in designing and developing learning solutions
- The following would be considered an asset:
- Experience with web development or an understanding of web technologies (i.e. HTML, Flash, Javascript)
- Graphic design and course content development
- You are able to master new technologies and troubleshoot software and programming issues.
- You are a team player who works well independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team environment.
- You are innovative and pride yourself on your ability to think outside of the box to deliver best in class learning solutions.
- You are a dedicated selfstarter who is passionate about delivering results and continuous learning.
- You have an intellectual curiosity and are dedicated to continuous learning and improvement.
- You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable translating ideas clearly in written and visual materials.
- You have strong organizational skills and are able to successfully manage multiple competing priorities.
- You have strong relationship building skills and thrive in consultative environment.
