One of Southwest Ontario's leading private clubs, Sarnia Golf and Curling Club is searching for an experienced and dynamic individual for the position of Food and Beverage Manager.


A family focused Club that provides for its members premier golf, curling, and dining facilities, Sarnia Golf and Curling Club strives to create memorable experiences through creative, consistent, and courteous service.


Reporting to Chief Operating Officer the Food and Beverage Manager oversees the overall operation of all Food and Beverage locations, including Greenside Dining Lounge, Down Bar, Halfway House, and Banquet Facility.

This position plays a key role in ensuring that the wants and needs of our members and their guests are consistently exceeded.

Our Food and Beverage Manager must build collaboration and provide for a cohesive environment by bringing together all departments of SGCC Clubhouse operations.

In addition, s/he will plan and implement budgets and provide strong leadership to direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and oversee operating standards and procedures for food and beverage service, culinary operations, shipping/receiving and clubhouse services
  • Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets for each department, including regular monitoring and taking corrective action as necessary
  • Implement and ensure cost control procedures are consistently utilized
  • Create new and innovative ways to meet, and respond to, the needs and demands of an ever changing, diverse membership
  • Provide effective leadership to direct reports, including coaching, training, managing performance and encouraging professional development activities for new and experienced employees
  • Play an active role in the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), participate in quarterly meetings and monthly inspections.
  • Develop new and innovative ways to stimulate member participation in Club events
  • Build member relationships by being visible at the appropriate times, greeting members and guests and overseeing actual service delivery on a routine and random basis
  • Develop wine lists and bottle/glass wine sales promotion programs
  • Plan and implement procedures for special club events and banquet functions
  • Maintain records of special events, house counts, food covers and daily business volumes
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and execute to improve operational efficiency and service delivery

Qualifications

  • Hospitality or business degree
  • 5+ years senior F&B management experience, preferably in a Private Club environment
  • People management experience
